Ang CRAYFISH

Crayfish, also called crawfish or crawdad, are closely related to the lobster. More than half of the more than 500 species occur in North America, particularly Kentucky (Mammoth Cave) and Louisiana in the Mississippi basin. Crayfish also live in Europe, New Zealand, East Asia and throughout the world, including the Tristan da Cunha Islands. Nearly all live in freshwater, although a few survive in salt water. Crayfish are characterised by a joined head and thorax, or midsection, and a segmented body, which is sandy yellow, green, or dark brown in colour. The head has a sharp snout, and the eyes are on movable stalks. Crayfish are usually about 7.5 cm (3 inches) long.

Karma, karma, karma

Rode a cab last weekend going to Makati when the driver, about 65 years of age, starts to babble about KARMA. "... Alang karma, kasi kung meron, matagal nang patay ang mga nasa pulitika!!! At patay na din ako...

According to him, he was in the seminary for 3 years then left when he was 18, "pilyo kasi ako eh..." He got married in his mid-30's and and had two kids, but when he was 42, he stabbed a guy dead out of anger. He was sentenced for 20 years but behaved well enough to get parole. He was out after 5 years, 2 of which was in Muntinlupa while the remaining 3 were in Iwahig Penal Colony in Palawan. He's not afraid to die, and nothing really bad has ever happened to him or his family after he was released from jail.

He doesn't believe in karma...but I do.

Sharing blessings...

Read an article last weekend in one of the major newspapers here in Manila. A successful businessman with humble roots was telling a story of how he kept on complaining that his family depended so much on him not only for the basic food, shelter, clothing but for their child's tuition etc.

It came to a point when he was so angry and frustrated that he realized he was better off than these people. He was blessed, and still is. From another point of view, he doesn't just give...he shares it willingly...

In reading this, I began to reflect on how I'd tell close friends of my "complaints", almost 10 years of being employed and not much of what you can call savings, assets etc....

But then again, the businessman was right, I'm blessed and I share it. I share whatever I can, sometimes leaving only what I need to get to the next payday. I am not alone, I know that. And I'm very impressed with a friend whom I've never heard complain...never.

Tonight, mom will get her semi-monthly funding from me, and I hope and pray that someday, my brothers and sister will do their share too...hehehe
